Session 1 | Tech wise family
Making conscientious choices about technology in our families is more than just using internet filters and determining screen time limits for our children. It's about developing wisdom, character, and courage in the way we use digital media rather than accepting technology's promises of ease, instant gratification, and the world's knowledge at our fingertips. And it's definitely not just about the kids. Much of the legacy you will leave to your children now is dramatically shaped by how technology influences you. Join RICCD for happy hour (drinks and Hors d’oeuvres) alongside a 90 minute roundtable discussion and training on technology and the family
Session 2 | Bullying & your child
Does the word bullying make you immediately think of fights in the school yard or shoving matches in the hallway? If you watch the news at all, you know that our definitions can no longer be so narrowly defined. Schools now contend with physical, verbal, social alienation, and cyberbullying. In order to combat this issue in our schools, it’s important to know what to look for. This roundtable and training will help parents and guardians identifying various types of bullying and how to help children respond appropriately. Join RICCD and experienced professionals for happy hour (drinks and Hors d’oeuvres) alongside a 90 minute roundtable discussion and training on bullying and your child.
Session 3 | Education Advocacy (Navigating the school system for the sake of our kids)
Where do you start? Who do we speak to? What are our options? Who is suppose to be advocating for my child and their educational needs? The NYC public school system is not easy to navigate in general. It becomes even tougher to navigate when your child may need special attention in certain academic areas. This 90 minute roundtable and training will not only provide information from one of our education specialists, but will also be the space and place to cover a gamut of topics revolving around how parents and guardians can best advocate for their child’s educational needs. Join RICCD and experienced professionals for happy hour (drinks and Hors d’oeuvres) alongside a 90 minute roundtable discussion and training educational advocacy.
